Photography

I have watched photography evolve since starting to take photographs more seriously at college. At the beginning taking photos as my own reference for my art work, especially local graffiti. Then I played with toys in photography which I continued and developed film at University. Still now, with the digital age of images I enjoy developing black and white film and get excited by the gradual process and exposure that reveals itself. With digital photography it has changed how I take pictures and helped especially with the commercial side, being able to capture many more shots in a limitless way. Almost guaranteeing one photo that works perfectly for a client.

The Wolves

The subject that interests me most and find most inspiring behind the camera is nature. Especially the wolf. A creature that for me represents nature in its purest and most balanced form. Misunderstood and often vilified in truth are complex and affectionate animals which I never tire of visiting, watching and capturing. It was the wolf that inspired me to share my life with an Alaskan Malamute, Okami, whom has a blog of his adventures complete with photo snaps. A journal if you will of his walks, the blogs link can be found at the bottom of this page.

Client Portfolio

Commerical photography I take on and apply my style and work with natural light and settings, bringing my clients something different than studio based and overly edited pictures. This has worked well with recent collaborations with Gubbins and Bobbins, a crockery hire and vintage purveyor. Their philosophy was laid back and whimsical which came through in the cottage and garden backdrop. The same for Skindeep, run by nutrionist Catherine Faraday, a natural and organic skincare store. The store required soft, natural sun to echo that of the products sold. Images from both of these shoots can be seen by clicking 'Client' below and browsing through the slideshow.
